Choose the right setup for your home
1. Check compatibility
Check the compatibility of your existing doorbell wiring system to help you decide how you would like to power your Ring Video Doorbell Wired. More information about compatibility can be found in the Help Centre here
2. Select your power source
If your existing doorbell wiring system is incompatible we recommend installation by a qualified professional using Ring DIN Rail Transformer. Alternatively, you can use Ring Plug-In Adapter to power Ring Video Doorbell Wired from a standard electrical socket.
3. Follow the steps on the Ring app
Once you have decided which installation option is best for you, follow the full installation steps on the free Ring app. Don't forget to add a Ring Chime to hear notifications around your home.
Complete control from the Ring app
With the Ring app, you can connect to all your Ring devices to see what's happening at home from anywhere, adjust your motion settings and use Live View to check on your home at any time.
Ring Protect Plan
Standard features such as instant notification, Live View, Two-Way Talk and Advanced Motion Detection features are available out of the box and at no additional cost on all compatible Ring devices. Get even more out of all your Ring doorbells and cameras with a Ring Protect subscription, and activate video recording and Snapshot Capture on your device. Ring Protect is an optional subscription that allows you to record, review and share the moments you missed, at any time. You can enjoy a free trial of Ring Protect for 30 days. At the end of the free trial, you can choose to continue with your Ring Protect Plan by subscribing on ring.com for only £2.50/month per device or £8/month per household.
Works with Alexa
Connect Ring Video Doorbell Wired with select Alexa-enabled devices for hands-free convenience. When your video doorbell detects motion, your Echo device or Fire TV device can notify you, so you always know who's there. When you ask Alexa to answer the front door, you can see, hear and speak to the visitors at your door.

Doorbell chime must be bypassed/ for more information in wiring and compatibility see ring.com/hardwired.
- Plug-In Adapter. Use Plug-In adapter (2nd Gen) sold separately (24VDC. 0.5A, 12W). Plug-In Adapter features a 6m cable and comes with cable clips. Plugs into standard indoor electrical socket. Use only Ring DC supplies. Use of 3rd-party DC supplies will result in damage to device.
